How long have you been quilting? Just hit 1 year.
How did you get started quilting? At the beginning of quarantine in March 2020 I started making masks. I needed a hobby to keep me from going crazy and thought I would do masks to also make some extra money. That got boring really quick. My mother, who has been quilting for 25+ years, gave me some fabric and a kit to make a quilt. I put the quilt together in a weekend. Needless to say, I was hooked. Since then I have made about 20 quilts. I started to test quilt patterns for other designers as a way to build my skill level which has worked tremendously. However, now I want to pattern design. That is my next step.
What is your favorite part of quilting? I love everything about quilting, but my absolute favorite is shopping for fabric and picking a palette for a new project.
What is your least favorite part of quilting? Ironing/pressing. It’s not so much the process, but more so how doing this step distorts the fabric.
Do you have a day job? If so, what do you do? Yes I work in Corporate Compliance, but am also a Paralegal and Notary.
Do you design your own quilt patterns? I have not completed one pattern yet; however, I have three or four that need to be finished. This is definitely the direction I’m going so maybe one day soon you’ll see my pattern featured on here.
Favorite quilt designer? I have been in pattern testing mode for the last 9 months so I haven’t had the chance to make any of the patterns being released lately, but from the patterns I have used my favorites are@Mary Davis ,@archaiosquiltco,@thaicharmllc. Although I haven’t made a quilt using newer patterns being released, I have seen some real good ones that I want to.
What’s the first concert you ever attended? My absolute favorite but too young to remember was New Edition so I don’t count that one. My true 1st one was Bell Biv Devoe with Johnny Gill and Keith Sweat.
