It’s been a minute, but I’ve got a new quilt pattern.  I have so many drafts made in my EQ8 software, but I just haven’t had the time to finalize the patterns.  It’s been a slow start to the year, but this one is done.  I actually made this pattern quite a few years ago.  I had so much positive feedback on it, that I decided to write the instructions for it.

The initial quilt can be seen in my website Home Page.  This is a black and white version with borders.  The pattern does not include borders, but you can easily add borders if you so choose.

The pattern calls for 3 fabrics.  I think it looks best if there is a contrast in the colors to make the diamonds really pop.  It looks good in solids, prints or a combination of the two.  The pattern uses strip piecing, cut into squares.  You’ll need a square ruler that is at least 8 1/2″ with a 45 degree line.  The pattern includes a video demonstration on how to cut the blocks.

Once you’ve cut the blocks, they will look like this.  Pretty cool, huh?

I am used to pressing to the dark side.  That’s what I did with this pattern.  However, if you want a flatter seam, go ahead and press your seams open.  Here’s a photo of the finished block.

There are lots of seams to match up.  Make sure you pin before stitching blocks together.

Guaranteed you’re going to love how your quilt turns our using this pattern.

Now for the fun part.  Let’s take a look at what my testers have done.  I’ve included a link to their Instagram pages, so you can give them a follow.  We’ve got some great color combinations to inspire you.
