Name: Carrington Elliott

Where do you live: Jacksonville, FL

How long have you been quilting? Serious quilting, I started at the beginning of 2020. I had my first taste of quilting in 2013.

How did you get started quilting? My cousin was pregnant and I decided I wanted to make her a baby quilt. I knew how to sew, but didn’t have “quilting” experience so I justcut out nine 9insquares and went from there. I used satinbinding and bubble minky on the backside. It actually turned out really good!

What is your favorite part of quilting? I love doing “big stitch binding”, so sitting down under a quilt to finish the binding by hand once all the sewing is completed is my favorite part, and I find it so relaxing.

What is your least favorite part of quilting? Cutting, all the way!

Do you have a day job? If so, what do you do? I work as a Product Developer for a lifestyle brand, developing graphic tees, hair accessories, bags, and various wearable accessories.

Do you design your own quilt patterns? I do not.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why? The power to snap and have something be completed. Why? I’m a self-titled proCRAFTinator with lots of WIPS. But also, to be able to snap and have all the cutting for a quilt done would be amazing!

What three words best describe you? Creative, Unique, Loving

Which do you prefer: fat quarters or yardage? Yardage. I like the option of having lots of leftovers to play with for future projects!

Favorite season? Well, I live in Florida now where there’s not really seasons (ha!), but I really love the time right between summer and fall where it’s not too hot but hasn’t turned cold yet.
