Do you ever feel like you’re super busy working on something, but not really accomplishing anything? That’s how I felt in September and October. Lots of obligations and quilt projects I wanted to make, but I haven’t finished them yet. Maybe I work better under pressure, because deadlines are looming and I now have a plan to get things completed.
In the meantime, I thought I should start documenting my projects. So here goes. I haven’t pieced a lot, but I do have one new quilt pattern coming soon. If you love making half square triangles, well, then you’re gonna love this one. This quilt doesn’t have a name yet. Naming quilts is always a stressor for me, trying to find the perfect name. It will come to me.

Here’s a baby elephant that I did some thread painting on. To me, thread painting involves micro quilting which I really enjoy. Micro quilting is free motion quilting on a very tiny scale. Once done, it adds texture and depth as if it was colored in with paints.

With football season upon us, I really wanted to try free motion quilting the Denver Broncos logo. Here it is. You can’t see the quilting as well on the head because I used white thread.

Just for fun, I stitched out the days of the week in cursive with different background fills for each day. If you want to see the videos, I posted 7 days of reels on my Instagram. Follow me on Instagram to see here: https://www.instagram.com/marygoroundquilts/

That’s really all there is that’s worth showing that I’ve completed the past month and a half. I did attend Quilt Market in Houston in the beginning of October, and man oh man, what an experience. Super fun time there.
I’ve also got a few new videos uploaded to Youtube. I’ve had questions on how to set up your sewing machine for free motion quilting, so I made a video. I’ll be posting new quilting videos each week, and I’d love if you would subscribe to my channel HERE.

I guess I better get back to sewing now. See you soon, friend!
Mary
