Henry John Drewal has served as Curator of African Art at the Neuberger Museum-SUNY-Purchase (1986), The Cleveland Museum of Art (1988-90), and Curator of African Art at the Toledo Museum of Art (1989). Since 1991 He has been theEvjue-Bascom Professor of Art History and Afro-American Studiesat theUniversity of Wisconsin-Madisonand Adjunct Curator of African Art at theChazen Museum of Art, UW-Madison until December 2019 when he retired to become the Evjue-Bascom Professor Emeritus of Art History and Afro-American Studies.

I reached out to Henry to see if he would be be interested in presenting to our membership on his experience with the Siddi culture. He is unable do a zoom interview, but he did send me these two articles and asked that I share them with you about Siddi quilting. He was very nice and helpful and his website is a wealth of information about afro-american arts.
