Name: Victoria Ghyselinck

Where do you live (City/State): South Bend, IN

How long have you been quilting? 3 years

How did you get started quilting?I started to sew when, on a whim, I bought a cheap machine and thought, I’m going to teach myself to sew. I started with blankets or patchwork blankets that had no batting to a memory blanket with my daughter’s onesies from her first year. From there I slowly when from small baby blankets to a throw.

What is your favorite part of quilting? Designing (all the fabric!) and piecing (actual sewing!)

What is your least favorite part of quilting?Cutting (the back pain) and quilting (completion fatigue)

Do you have a day job? If so, what do you do? Yes. I work as a systems consultant for an insurance company

Do you design your own quilt patterns?Only for myself but maybe one day I’ll try pattern writing

If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?Healing. I’m practical and like the utilitarian and maternal idea of it. Also, flying is overrated.

What three words best describe you?Indecisive, loyal, compassionate

Favorite quilt pattern designer or fabric designer?@ModernlyMorgan as really versatile and breezy patterns. I also really like doing FPP and am always looking for fun patterns. Lastly, I like the collaborative fabric collections by Ruby Star Society

Favorite holiday?My Birthday – that’s a holiday, right?
